Jan Andrews has spent her live immersed in the world of art. The Daughter and Grand Daughter of artists, she spent her younger days drawing and oil painting. Since then, she has worked in a variety of media, including ceramics, wood carving, jewelry making, painting water colors and alkyds, silver point, colored pencil drawing and stained glass.
She has a B.S. degree in Commercial Art from Purdue University, and was a free-lance commercial artist for several years before opening her own Art and Frame Gallery, where she also became involved with conservation and restoration. Jan was highlighted in El Paso Magazine in 1987 as one of the year’s ‘Women to Watch. She has given programs and classes in framing, care of fine art in framing, mat design, carving, drawing for children and stained glass in foil. She is currently working with stained glass, using her own, original designs and has started a line of note cards based on her original colored pencil drawings
