Find a delightful surprise when you come to Winnsboro. Leave the frantic pace behind and come to this East Texas community, where the atmosphere is “laid back”, yet, energetic. Winnsboro is a lively Arts Community, where you can enjoy great restaurants and leisurely shopping.

Historically, Winnsboro’s Arts District was a “rough and tumble” area known as the Bowery. Populated with saloons and known for “shoot outs”, the streets knew the likes of such people as Bonnie & Clyde. Mix with that atmosphere, a crossroads for trade and many dynamic churches, and you have, to say the least, a combination that was anything, but boring.
Without the “shoot outs”, that “flavor” of surprise, that energy, continues today.

Recently designated one of seven Cultural Arts Districts in the State, by the Texas Commission on the Arts, Winnsboro serves up art in all forms. There is music every week-end, and events highlighting the painters, photographers, sculptors, fiber artists, writers, actors, and musicians of this lively arts community, as well as from across Texas. The Winnsboro Cultural Arts District presents the “3rd Friday” Arts Festival on the 3rd Friday and following Saturday of each month. Winnsboro merchants join in with Crazy Daze, …. individual sales and events on the Thursday, Friday, & Saturday of the 3rd week-end of each month.

Winnsboro is a : Preserve America City, Texas Certified Retirement Community, Main Street Program City, and the State of Texas Cultural Arts District.

With all Winnsboro has to offer, come join the fun, stroll and shop, dine in the restaurants, and be a part of the Arts.
